I Don’t Want to Be Pregnant. Is Abortion My Only Option?

It’s natural to wonder what all your options are during your unexpected pregnancy. You have three options, and the future is up to you.

At Choices Medical Services, we’re here to help you navigate this situation. You deserve support and accurate information as you consider your options, without pressure or judgment. Schedule your no-cost appointment to talk and receive early pregnancy services.

Understanding All Your Options

While abortion is one possible choice, it’s not the only one. Having an abortion is a significant life decision, and after reviewing the side effects and risks, you might be interested in pursuing other paths.

Many women also consider parenting or making an adoption plan. Both options require careful evaluation of your goals and plans. Let’s explore the possibilities together.

Exploring Parenting

Becoming a parent can feel challenging, especially if this pregnancy was not planned. You may be asking yourself questions like:

  • Who would support me as I raise my child?
  • Can I still achieve my goals?
  • What would parenting look like?
  • Will the baby’s father be involved?
  • What support would I need to make this possible?

Though parenting is a big responsibility, it can also bring joy and fulfillment. We provide information, resources, and ongoing encouragement to help you feel more confident in your next steps. Many people are surprised by how much support is available and how empowered they feel when they begin to see parenting as a viable option.

Considering an Adoption Plan

Adoption isn’t easy, but it can provide the reassurance you seek. It allows you to carry your pregnancy to term while shaping your child’s future with a family who shares your hopes and values.

Adoption services are provided at no cost to you, and the adoptive family typically pays for medical expenses beyond whatever insurance covers.  As the birth mother, you are in control, and you can choose how involved you’d like to be through the following adoption types:

  • Open Adoption: You choose the adoptive family and maintain ongoing communication through visits, calls, letters, etc.
  • Semi-Open Adoption: Contact is limited and facilitated by a third party; some information is shared.
  • Closed Adoption: No identifying information is exchanged, and there is no contact with the adoptive family.

Though Choices Medical Services does not arrange adoptions directly, we can connect you with reputable agencies and provide support throughout the process. This is your decision, and you won’t walk alone.
